Needed: An eager, plugged-in go-getter, to hit the streets, hobnob, schmooze and close deals for this extremely well-known media brand in the home/DIY segment. Think you’ve got the stuff? Read on.
The Nitty Gritty
The company is undergoing a brand renaissance and branching out from print and TV to a fuller-fledged multimedia status. Of course it wants all the best advertisers on its website, which is where you come in. A separate effort will be aimed at programmatic, but you’re needed to fill a more traditional digital-centric sales role, deploying your robust set of contacts – digital planners, supervisors, agencies and content studios – to build relationships and, of course, sell space on the main site for the most dollars. In particular, the company is struggling to connect with the stereotypical 26-year-old planner who is a fixture at happy hours and cutting-edge conferences. That sort of thing will be your main target, with the endemic plays being things like first-time home buyers and sellers, contractors, insurance, auto and financial services . And speaking of targets, you’ll aggressively aim for a 65-percent increase in sales for the first year. Chall-unge!
Hired Gun Profile
You yourself might even be a media planner or supervisor at a digital agency, looking for a change. Or perhaps you’ve been doing the very thing we’ve just described for another brand. Either way, you feel in every way a part of that world, and have great relationships with people throughout the industry. You relish the sales role, enjoying the buzz of interactions and the thrill of prospecting, the elation of the hunt. You have a goodly dash of experience with cross-platform work, and are right at home selling video, native and branded content.
You understand how to speak with the key players, many of whom are Millennials. And you’re the kind of up-and-comer who arrives with a full toolkit and will be ready to start making it happen on the first day on the job.
We’ve emphasized youth a couple of times here, but that isn’t to say there’s any kind of age requirement in play. In fact, the more seasoned you are, the better, so long as you have a good rapport and can match the energy/wavelength of the key players with whom you’ll be interacting.
Here’s a chance to make a big difference, filling an important gap at a venerable company that’s looking forward to a new growth spurt. Considerable earning potential, as well.
