Are you looking for a senior creative role with a company that’s truly making a difference? Our client uses cutting-edge technology toward the noble mission of helping workers avoid accidents. It needs a creative director to set the visual message for its brand across all media, and is seeking someone just like you, a Talented Mid-Career Design Pro with Management Experience.
The Nitty Gritty
Reporting to the marketing head, you’ll manage a team of five-plus designers and will be tasked with conceiving and overseeing all expressions of the brand, including web, print, mobile, tablet and video. You’ll encourage brand-aligned collaboration between your design team and the R&D people. You’ll create standards documents and constantly develop and refine the organization’s visual vocabulary while streamlining work processes and even helping to brainstorm around the products that are the company’s bread and butter.
You’ll handle pre-production, you’ll manage video and photo shoots, and you’ll bring in agency talent as-needed. Of course you’ll inspire your team to greatness, and you’ll nail your deadlines and budgets like a veritable Annie Oakley (who, you see, was a famous sharpshooter back in the 1880s). You’ll also create keynote presentations, investor decks and promotional collateral.
Hired Gun Profile
The eight to 10 years you’ve spent in the design field amount to a smorgasbord of platforms and demands: You’ve done digital, you’ve done print, you’ve visualized data, you’ve created video – and you’ve done it all impressively well. Further, you’ve had increasing managerial responsibility as your career has progressed, and can easily step into a role in which you’ll be called upon both to keep the trains running on time and to encourage creative talent and coax forth the finest thinking.
At this point in your career, you’ve got a seriously hefty toolkit to brag about: Creative Suite, interaction design, UX/UI, AfterFX, motion graphics, 3D volumetric design – I mean, it’s a little bit sickening, frankly, to us mortals.
Your work ethic is unimpeachable (ask anybody!) and you can roll with the punches when timelines, requirements and priorities shift. And finally, your passion for collaboration is infectious, sometimes contaminating entire companies.
A background in packaging and/or industrial design would also be a handsome feather with which to adorn your cap.
This is a great gig combining creative and management at a company doing work with a positive social impact.
