When your car broke down, you opened the hood and pulled out your Drupal toolbox. Your niece skinned her knee on the sidewalk and you were all, “Rub a little Drupal on it.” You took one taste of your cauliflower rice, handed the plate back to the waiter and said, “Needs a splash more Drupal.” Which is to say, you’re really, really into Drupal, and thus are primed to become the tech lead and central resource managing a combination local/offshore team of Drupal developers. Right?
The Nitty Gritty
The very, very prestigious medical organization and university has a number of projects that use Drupal as a back end, and you’ll take an architectural approach to managing tech, module creation, code review, and migration from Drupal 5 and 6 to 8. Everything you work on will have been Lullabot-built, meaning no tangles of spaghetti code, and you’ll operate in a strict Agile, startup-like environment, with test automation/continuous integration the order of the day. Of course you’ll apply not only your wicked Drupal chops but also your management skills to see to it that a team of offshore developers – at two sites many time zones away – are working merrily and efficiently.
Hired Gun Profile
In keeping with the aforementioned unhealthy obsession with Drupal, you’ve done five to eight years doing deep module development, and maybe even have a major Drupal installation to boast of. Along the way, you’ve acquired some management experience and expertise, such that you’re just as comfortable designing workflows and handling personnel as you are at kicking Drupal ass.
You’re highly collaborative and eager to work with as many people as possible across the organization to get your job done. Since this is a high-visibility position, you’ve got the professional polish to interact with all manner of stakeholders, leaving pleased in your wake everybody from high grandees to the most junior overseas worker on your staff.
This is a contract position, and you’ll be expected to do a lot of onsite work and attend a lot of meetings in person.
This employer is a dream to work for, and although the position is contract, it’s also high-profile, giving you a brilliant chance to really show your stuff, doing that Drupal thing you do.
