Here’s a chance for an organized, attentive professional to go to work for a big-and-getting-bigger media company. The firm needs an organized executive assistant who is also a great communicator. If you’ve got some experience under your belt and are eager to work alongside a talented, energetic group of people at a hugely successful outfit, then this is a good fit for sure.
The Nitty Gritty
You’ll be assigned to one or more executives on the team, and as such, they – and therefore you – will interact frequently with stakeholders throughout the organization and externally. You’ll help by facilitating meetings, conveying information, and generally keeping the wheels greased as the department interfaces with clients and colleagues.
You’ll help maintain project-management systems, keep calendars current, manage the schedules of busy execs, and dip into payroll and HR issues as needed. Occasionally, you’ll be called on for one-off special projects, but generally speaking, this role is pretty much what you think of when you hear “admin support” – except that it happens to be for such a cool company.
Hired Gun Profile
You’re an up-and-comer looking to put your skills to work at an exciting outfit where you can surround yourself with high-caliber people. Perhaps you’ve already put in some time as a personal or executive assistant, and it suits you. Either way, you’ve got a nice combination of hunger and talent. You’re good with technology, adapting quickly to new apps, and you’re the sort others turn to when the videoconferencing setup isn’t working. You’re comfortable living in an enterprise-system environment and have good hygiene when it comes to maintaining project-management and other tools that require constant feeding.
You’re highly organized, keep a neat desktop and take care of things right away. Your communication skills – both oral and written –are strong, and people have more than once complimented you on your phone manner. You’re flexible enough to take on unexpected new responsibilities, and cool enough to be a source of comfort to harried execs when the unexpected occurs. Importantly, you’re honest, decent, friendly, and have a great sense of humor.
If you’ve done previous work for a media company or ad agency, we’d love to hear about it.
This is a great way for a keen all-arounder to get a foot in the door of a happening company that’s a lot of fun to work for.
