Let’s see if this describes you: seasoned digital marketer with a head full of million-dollar ideas, talented leader, ready for a bigger sandbox. If so, our client, a leading fashion/celebrity magazine, respectfully requests your application to become its next Digital Marketing Executive Director.
The Nitty Gritty
It’s growth time at the company, especially on the digital side, with the recent acquisition of new media properties that dangle, ripe, awaiting your touch. You’ll bring your creativity, drive and sheer talent to bear by managing a team that will work in tandem with the sales force to roll out very-high-revenue initiatives throughout the world of digital. Yours will be the team that comes up with the ideas, fleshes them out, works out budgetary and time-to-market issues, and creates the pitches that the sales folks will take with them out onto the street. You’ll inspire your team to creative greatness, not only in conjuring out-of-the-ballpark campaigns from thin air, but also responding to proposals from existing and potential accounts with only the very finest ideas. True collaboration will be crucial, not just within your team but in your interactions with the Director of Sales as you shape and polish these initiatives into winners.
Hired Gun Profile
You’ve been at the digital marketing game, in one way or another, for as long as it’s been a thing, and yet the water in your idea well is cool and deep and refreshing still. As soon as some genius West Coast kid unveils a new platform, you’re thinking up five ways of monetizing it, with good ideas for specific clients. You’ve shown that you can lead a team, and that when you’re in charge it operates with a beauty that exceeds that of its several parts. You’ve been doing creative work for long enough to know that the finest stuff is born of collaboration, and that that’s no bull. Your communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are impeccable: when you enter a room, even the drapes look suddenly classy.
Bonus points, of course, if your deep experience includes in-house work with a print magazine establishing its digital presence. Extra-bonus points if said magazine was in the style/beauty/celebrity genre.
