New York’s premier digital talent agency (that’s us!) is looking for a Talent Researcher to help find the most creative and ambitious talent for our clients—highly innovative and smart digital companies, both big and small. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to get immersed in the many digital industries emerging and flourishing today, as well as gaining substantial experience in recruiting and sourcing.
Nitty Gritty
Nuanced, industry-specific knowledge is always essential when you’re after the best talent, whether you’re helping find a product manager at a major e-commerce site, a director of marketing for a foundation or medical center, a games developer for a website, or an internal communications consultant for an agency.
As talent researcher, you’ll be scouring the web for high-caliber talent while also providing a fuller understanding of our clients’ businesses in order to jumpstart the recruiting search. Your role also includes thinking about the companies and positions where potential talent might be right now, as well as helping create a practical overall search strategy.
To do this right, you’ll need to be in constant communication with our talent leads and client leads, and you’ll also be frequently reaching out to potential applicants and helping with the screening process.
You’ll be in charge of making every search strategic and efficient. You’ll soon learn the ins and outs of LinkedIn and our own applicant tracking system (ATS), while also learning proven techniques and methods for finding and qualifying talent as you go.
You’ll know you’ve been a success in this role when you’ve streamlined the process and managed to cut the average time to place people in open positions.
Hired Gun Profile
Top candidates will have the endless organizational abilities of an up-and-coming project manager, great communication skills (recruiting is a people business, after all), and the drive to learn everything they can about our clients and their needs. You should also have wicked research skills and thrive on working on lots of projects at the same time.
If you have previous experience in one of our main areas of expertise, such as product management or marketing, be sure to call that out in your application. That said, we aren’t requiring any industry-specific knowledge or expertise.
Just be sure to demonstrate that you’re energized by new digital products and content. Maybe you religiously follow tech or media blogs, or maybe you design in your free time. Whatever your hobbies or interests, be ready to demonstrate the ways in which you are drawn to the ideas behind the stuff that makes up so much of our life today.
Inside Skinny
Keep in mind that any previous experience you have must also come with a consistent willingness to learn about new verticals you’ve never directly encountered before. You’ll need to be comfortable learning on the fly, as new verticals and business plays emerge.
