A major entertainment network needs an Analytics Consultant to provide detailed findings on their users’ behavior. The ideal Hired Gun for this gig is a talented Analyst with experience scouring user data and uncovering trends for an entertainment property with a large digital footprint. Attention to detail is a must here, as is a passion for television, social media, and all things digital. This is a freelance engagement that will have you on-site in their New York office full-time for up to two months.
This company is looking for greater insight into everything from traffic sources to referrers to time-on-site and more. You’ll perform deep analysis of user behavior, digging into all the data sources to determine how viewers for their shows behave in the digital world. You’ll study navigation patterns, points of entry, usage frequency, and more to help them understand when their fans visit, how often they visit, and what kinds of content types they use most.
You’ll also develop pathing analyses and conduct multivariate testing and digital segmentation studies.
When all is said and done, you’ll take your findings and distill them into compelling, actionable PowerPoint decks.
You’ve analyzed complex sets of data and uncovered valuable findings about user behavior for a digital media company. You’re a natural with the big analytics platforms, including Omniture, Hitwise, Google Analytics. You’re the undisputed champion of pivot tables. You also have a gift for turning a mountain of unstructured data into digestible insights for Product, Content, and other teams to work from.
A working knowledge of how TV audiences interact with digital content is a must-have here. A love of — or at a least a familiarity with — the current TV landscape won’t hurt, either. Another added bonus would be a proven ability to generate actionable recommendations based on your findings. But if you haven’t done that, don’t sweat it. This role is definitely more about digging into the data.
For a gigging Analytics maven, this is a great place to hang your hat for a couple of months while you help a big-time brand redefine their digital presence.
