The Hired Guns are seeking an Assistant Director Digital Analytics to scope out and create the analytics infrastructure for a healthcare provider that’s at the forefront of digital communications and is striving to take a comprehensively data-driven approach to its content decisions. If you’re equally amazing at reading the data and at communicating its meaning, be sure to hit us up!
There’s no ready-made checklist for the Assistant Director Digital Analytics role. (You wouldn’t want that anyway!) You’re coming in to build a broad, powerful analytics framework to support data-based decision-making across the institution’s large digital marketing and communications team.
Step One: engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders to agree on the organization’s business goals, convert them to some concrete KPIs, and agree on how they should be measured. Step Two: analyzing the vast ocean of content – websites, social media, patient portals, mobile apps, visitor kiosks, institutional signage, marketing campaigns, e-newsletters, ads – and reporting to the internal teams on what’s hitting, what’s missing, what the trends are, what the drivers are, and why and how things should be changed or refined. Step Three: developing and managing visualization dashboards that will guide busy, non-specialist leaders in making effective decisions about content and communications.
Ongoing, you’ll be managing a more junior data analyst, handling incoming requests for analysis from various teams, and monitoring and maintaining the overall analytics workflow.
Hired Gun Profile
Data wonk, numbers geek, whatever the nickname, you embrace who you are: a person who gets jazzed by diving into the stats and coming back up with the truth. You’ve been at it for more than half a decade now, and have learned all the tools – Adobe, Google, Web Trends, SQL – inside out. But sticking to canned outputs isn’t for you: your secret sauce is your flair for creating your own tools and techniques that distill all the complexity into clear and actionable recommendations that non-wonky leadership types can’t help but get behind.
You’re hyper-organized, personable, and assertive. You communicate effectively and confidently at all levels. It’s great if you’ve managed people before, but if you’re a good leader who’s ready to take that first step into having formal reports, this could be your chance!
Experience in digital marketing is a big plus, so please call it out if you have it!
