The digital network of this distinguished Hired Guns client is looking for a talented Associate Product Manager to come in and help coordinate the conceptual and technical development of some awesome new product initiatives.
The best of both worlds, you combine visionary product insight with serious technical know-how. In other words, you’ve got great instincts to help drive development of compelling products with a strong user focus, the technical aptitude to work with a world-class engineering team, and the business sense to help drive product goals and strategies.
You’ve got 2-3 years of online product experience under your belt; if it’s in the news and information space, all the better. You’ve led, defined, and launched robust online products, can gather user and business requirements and convert them into a winning product vision, and can evangelize the merits of the group’s products internally and externally. You’ll need strong quantitative and analytical abilities and a deep understanding of the Internet, mobile platform development, market data, and online advertising.
As the Associate Product Manager, you will develop an overall product roadmap and strategy, creating preliminary design concepts and conducting primary or secondary research as needed. By understanding, gathering, and documenting concise user, business, and product requirements for both existing product enhancements and new initiatives, you will evaluate the pros and cons of different choices and weigh the tradeoffs between scope and time-to-market.
As always, communication is key: you will relay status, issues, and results throughout the organization and will partner closely with the engineering, product management, design, sales, marketing, and customer service teams throughout the product lifecycle. You will be viewed as a true subject matter expert, not only on your products but on best practices, the competition, and the latest industry trends.
Entrepreneurial experience is a plus, of course, but it’s your passion for creating great products that will really get you noticed.
The chance to work at one of the biggest names in news.
