We’re looking for an Associate Director of Analytics to join one of the world’s biggest mobile providers. Their data is clean, and they’ve got more of it to work with than almost anyone else. Your challenge will be to connect a wide variety of data types and turn it all into meaningful digital and omni dashboards and provide meaningful reporting for key decision makers.
The right Hired Gun for this role is a seasoned Digital Analytics pro with deep experience in transactional analytics, site traffic measurement, digital marketing data and an ability to turn complex data into understandable business and marketing insights. If you want to be challenged every day and transform an analytics team to be best in the world, then this is the gig for you.
This company is at the center of everything mobile, which means you’ll be at the forefront of the next evolution in digital. The amount of data they have to work with is immense: customers, prospects, purchases, web and mobile usage – it’s all there. They need you to pull it all together in a way that helps decision makers address business requirements.
As Associate Director of Analytics, you’ll oversee the development and definition of critical web, business, and marketing KPIs. You’ll address new analytics needs as they arise and implement operational processes for the teams that work with your data. There’s a team of analysts who will report to you, so you’ll have to be comfortable leading and guiding a team of very smart professionals.
They’re also interested in evolving dashboards for subscriber growth, sales, churn, inventory, marketing campaign effectiveness, and the performance of new features and activations. Like we said, there’s a LOT of data on hand here.
This company may be big, but you won’t find the usual corporate quicksand here. They’re aggressive and ambitious and a leader in their category, and they expect you to be, as well. A wilting violet will be quickly overrun here, but a strong and assertive leader with a full toolbox of analytics expertise will find this the best career move ever.
Hired Gun Profile
You’ve never met a data type you couldn’t wrangle or an analytics platform you couldn’t master. However, transactional analytics is where you really shine. You have a background in digital retail (or perhaps subscription services) and have created dashboards, scorecards and reporting for a variety of transactional KPIs.
You have a gift for translating complex data into understandable reporting, even for people who don’t normally work with digital analytics. You know what the execs want to see when they ask about purchase data, customer growth or churn rates, and you can give it to them in a format that’s easy and intuitive. You’ve used these skills to transform a company’s data operation into a critical driver for business decisions.
Dashboards? Oh, you’ve built dashboards. You’ve built more dashboards than you count and you’re not done yet. You’ve built customizable dashboards that merged disparate data types in ways no one at your current company thought possible.
You’re a real expert with SiteCatalyst. Your SQL and data visualization chops are strong. You have familiarity with testing tools like Monetate and Test & Target like no one else. You’ve at least experimented with most data tools out there.
But you’re not just a data wonk. You’re a skilled manager with several years of team leadership under your belt. You’re a strong and assertive presence at the conference room table, and no one steamrolls you on anything.
The ideal candidate here has come into a company and transformed their data practice into an operation that gives executives easy-to-understand decision-making tools. If you’ve done that, you’ll move to front of the line pronto.
And not only does this company have more data than anyone else, they’ve also got the budget and resources to give you more tools than you ever dreamed of. Of course, that means you need to show us a broad understanding of analytics in all its forms.
If you dream of being knee-deep in data of every kind and having all the toys necessary to slice and dice it, you’ll never find a more perfect gig than this one.
