One of the East Coast’s most prestigious med schools — which also happens to be known as a great place to work — needs an experienced web production pro to help manage its team of on-site and remote producers across multiple digital properties. It’s a big, bustling place, abuzz with all kinds of interesting activity, and it’s work with a great social purpose: getting crucial healthcare information into the hands of people who need it.
As incoming requests and projects land, you’ll take ownership of them, setting up workflow, scheduling and reporting structures, and shepherding those requests right on through the editorial, visual and production teams to see them launched. You’ll also carry out a robust QA program, ensuring the accuracy of the producers’ builds, and you’ll provide said producers with plenty of feedback based on the clear expectations you’ve set and the solid best practices you’ve established. Speaking of which, you’ll become an undisputed master of the how’s and why’s of the company’s Drupal environment, and you’ll understand the editorial style guide well as anyone. Working with the folks in digital analytics, you’ll monitor site data and look into any anomalies. You’ll also develop strong interdepartmental collaborations with business analysts, product owners, developers, and the folks in network security. Having that level of operational and organizational alignment will allow for some mighty efficient synchs, updates, redirects and bug reports.
On the management front, you’ll have a considerable hand in shaping the team — you’ll advise on staffing requirements and then oversee the onboarding and training of new colleagues, especially on Drupal, and will maintain user manuals and handbooks. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll manage the team’s schedules and approve timesheets.

You’ve got some impressive production-management experience to boast of, and have developed an outstanding set of organizational and communication skills along the way. Finally, you’re the kind of worker who never shies away from personal responsibility, and your workers know you always have their back.
Although not a requirement, experience working within a medical facility would be a big help; barring that, product management work in another fast-paced matrix organization is just the thing.
This is a chance to step into a very substantial production role at a stable, nurturing company with a large and immensely important web presence.
