The Hired Guns are seeking a top-notch Audience Analytics Consultant to drive insights and strategy that will enable immediate and long-term traffic gains around the website relaunch of one of the most watched cable TV brands in America. This quick-hit gig starts almost immediately, so if you’ve got capacity, and the skills, let us know!
You have a unique gift for spotting trends, you know how to form educated hypotheses, and you can make actionable recommendations that persuade others and make an impact. You’re a capable and engaging facilitator who encourages others to bring their own questions, opinions, and hunches out into the open. You leave each company you consult with genuinely ahead of the game. You’re an evangelist for your craft, known for your well-reasoned arguments that convince even the most hardened skeptics. You need to be extremely well-versed in Google Analytics, Omniture, and WebTrends, and you’re familiar with other analytics platforms as well. You have expert MS Excel skills (you live for pivot tables).
This is a 3- to 4-week quick-hit project. First you’ll do a top-to-bottom audit, taking a real deep dive into the numbers and looking at everything from bounce rates, entry and exit points, paths through the site, and more. The goal is to sift through the numbers and identify bottlenecks, obstacles and opportunities that can increase traffic. We’re looking for a baseline, and there are likely some really juicy nuggets of information for you to extract once you get your hands on the data. Next, you will come up with a series of short-term recommendations that our client can act on immediately, like smoking out dead-ends that cause users to bail from the site or addressing imbalances in the ratio of content to advertising. Finally, you will offer ideas and strategies from the audience analytics point of view that will inform and improve the major site redesign that is just getting under way.
Like all smart media companies, these guys are “getting their data on” and using it not only to increase traffic and revenue, but also to enable the creation of a more fulfilling user experience. If you’re the kind of analytics person who can get into the minds of users and identify the things that bring them back more often and for longer visits, we want to talk to you.
