The Hired Guns are seeking a Corporate Sales Manager for our client, a global lifestyle brand that is best known for its line of simple yet elegant reading and writing accessories and that will soon be equally renowned for its understated and stylish accessories lines. In this role, you will tap into your deep Rolodex of Fortune 500 brands that are looking to co-brand their companies with smart, fashionable products.
This role requires a true hybrid talent who has experience in developing new markets and selling into them. Most importantly, in you, we need a true entrepreneur who can take this stand-alone division and make it hum. You can segment and prioritize your target audiences like the best of ’em and know how to build business cases for each sector you target. Well-organized and detail-oriented, you’re resourceful enough to multitask and creative enough to give every task a little extra flair. You’ll need to present brand and communications concepts, new customization opportunities, and new products to both agencies and clients, so your years of sales experience will benefit you, particularly if any of them were spent in business development or B2B sales. You’re a power user of the Microsoft Office suite, and work just as well independently as you do with supervision and a team. And if you have a heck of a Rolodex of Fortune 500 marcomms folks, you should rock out in this role.
As the B2B Sales Manager, you’ll be working to research, develop, identify, and quantify new custom edition sales. Your customers will, in turn, give these fancy new gifts to clients, to sales teams for incentive awards or to employees for rah-rah purposes. Expectations — and quotas — are high, so you should be prepared to get out there and proactively drive new business, implementing and executing an action plan to grow sales with direct B2B clients and promotional agencies.
You will manage the forecasting process and monitor sales, keeping one step ahead of inventory needs and logistics. At trade shows, you will coordinate sales materials and new products; with the marketing team you’ll work to develop special promotional strategies and analyze the competitive market landscape.
While this role is very much about direct selling, time spent in a consumer goods business is very good for your candidacy. There’s a respectable amount of travel associated with this company — if that’s a bonus to you, you’re a bonus to us. Any command of Italian or Spanish would be great. And you’ve got to be aesthetically conscious and fashion-savvy.
This group is small in number, but huge in creativity and opportunity. Ciao!
