This clear leader in the interactive space is on the hunt for a director of business development with a natural bent toward consultative selling. This is a next-level opportunity where you can shine as the face of the company in its interactions with prospective clients — and also participate in the entire bizdev strategy, working across departments to come up with the whole approach and the whole plan. A hot shop, growing like mad and all the support you’ll need to succeed. What are you waiting for?
You’re going to be calling on your extensive knowledge of design, tech, branding and the digital space to identify and pursue new areas of growth to develop a mightily robust opportunity pipeline and hit annual new-business targets that you help set. The activities over which you’ll hold sway will thus be vast and glorious: industry analysis, target profiling, prospecting, writing and responding to proposals, pitching, closing, contract negotiation, and handoff to teams. While there’s clearly a ton of high-level strategy work involved (setting targets, assessing the quality of inbound opportunities, sniffing out growth areas, etc.), you’ll also nestle down into the weeds to carry some of this off: content creation, gathering input from colleagues, handling logistics around pitch meetings, and so on. In short, you’ll be calling on all your internal resources and experiences to keep the pedal to the metal, keep the company growing and expanding in the smartest ways possible.
Hired Gun Profile
No one would look at your CV and wonder about your specialty or your interests; it’s littered with words like sales, business development, business strategy, product design, mobile, UI, service design, branding and research. You know this space through and through, having spent more than half a decade connecting clients with digital design and brand solutions, and having exceeded $5 million in annual revenue. Next to you, your competitors in sales and business development look like a lot of empty smiles — prospects love sitting down with you because it becomes immediately clear that you know the business and can help them, rather than just looking to close while remaining blissfully ignorant of the details. Obviously that impression is helped along by your considerable polish, your ability to present clearly and effectively, and your inherent problem-solving nature which results in smart, complex proposals that are highly targeted to the client’s specific needs.
