This Hired Guns client — a big-name media network with a broad portfolio of broadcast and digital properties — is looking for a Director of Analytics. You’ll be managing a team of analysts who help guide the organization’s data-driven decision-making process, and you’ll be providing recommendations for how the network can grow audience engagement and position itself effectively to the ad sales marketplace.
You’ve got several years of experience in web analytics and have a solid ad supported, media company pedigree. You’re a pro at Omniture Site Catalyst and more importantly, Google Analytics, and your Excel kung fu is downright terrifying. You know what KPIs to watch and you understand tagging requirements for all new product, programming, and marketing efforts. You can make recommendations about what levers to pull to drive both audience engagement and ad revenue.
You’ve also got considerable people skills. You can lead a team, and you build a persuasive case when it comes to making data-driven recommendations. You’re an affable team player and a motivational leader.
This organization relies heavily on data to make informed decisions so this role is of central importance. Among other things, they are looking to grow their mobile presence, and they want to know what content/platforms/devices are most critical as they evolve these platforms. In this role, you’ll drive the company’s web analytics program, focusing on mobile, social, and video consumption. You’ll lead all cross-platform analysis and will be responsible for telling the evolving story of consumer trends and how this network’s content is being consumed. You’ll work with partners and internal stakeholders to collect and analyze data sets, and you’ll build new data aggregation tools and systems to analyze this data in a coherent fashion. You’ll also work with the Digital Distribution team to translate reports into actionable takeaways for platform programming and windowing.
They’ll also be looking to you to impart some standardization into their reporting process, and enforce those rigorous standards as the reporting evolves. You’ll be developing and leading a team of analysts, so you’ll need serious managerial chops. There’s also a dashboard-building component here.
Oh, and you’ll also be managing a large array of vendors.
These guys are in the process of moving from Omniture to Google Analytics. If you are a Google Analytics guru, call it out! Extra points if you have taken a company through a migration to Google Analytics.
This network is growing rapidly and they’re passionate about their making their digital presence state-of-the-industry. If the chance to drive data for an organization with these priorities appeals to you, don’t be shy.
