Director of PR Wanted at Global Entertainment Disruptor
Salary range: $150,000 to $225,000 per year base + bonus
Are You the Missing Piece?
Ready for a PR role that moves beyond press cycles and instead builds lasting cultural relevance? Then read on!
A high-growth, culture-shaping entertainment and technology company is looking for a Director of Public Relations to build something bigger than press coverage: They need someone to architect reputation, elevate founders, and turn momentum into cultural relevance (spoiler alert: this is not a traditional PR role). This is about making leadership visible, shaping a public narrative at the intersection of technology, entertainment, and creator culture, and helping a rapidly scaling company step fully into the spotlight.
You’ll be the person who turns company milestones into industry moments and puts founders and leadership on the map. It will be your responsibility to build trust internally, then translate that trust into headlines, speaking platforms, and cultural credibility. You’ll partner closely with brand and marketing as activations scale, ensuring PR doesn’t just support campaigns, but amplifies them into earned cultural moments.
There’s also a modern twist: navigating AI narratives responsibly, experimenting with creator-led storytelling, and helping shape how a tech-forward entertainment brand participates in today’s media ecosystem.
In short, this is a role for someone who understands that culture doesn’t just happen—it’s intentionally built, coached, and communicated.
What’s it going to take to score an interview?
- 10–15+ years leading PR or communications for consumer-facing brands in entertainment, tech, media, or culturally relevant companies
- Proven ability to elevate founders or executives into visible industry voices (thought leadership, media presence, speaking platforms, awards, narrative shaping)
- Deep earned-media instincts. You know how to turn hires, launches, partnerships, or milestones into headline moments
- Strong internal communications experience; you can coach leaders, build alignment, and earn executive trust
- Experience operating in externally facing brands where talent, storytelling, and reputation are core to growth
- Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with brand, marketing, and creative teams on launches and activations
- Comfort owning crisis communications and high-stakes messaging with calm, strategic judgment
- Existing relationships across entertainment, tech, business, and culture media
- Ability to translate complex or emerging topics (including AI) into clear, compelling narratives
- Experience managing agencies while staying hands-on in execution
- Bonus points if you’ve worked in culturally influential environments (gaming, streaming, fandom-driven brands, creator ecosystems, etc.)
- Extra bonus if you’ve experimented with creator-led or content-driven earned media strategies
You should take this meeting because …
You want a seat where PR is not a support function, it’s a growth lever. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how an ambitious company is perceived at a defining moment in its trajectory, building the public presence of leaders, influencing culture externally, and strengthening confidence internally.
If you love roles where you act as part strategist, part coach, part storyteller, where your work directly impacts talent attraction, brand perception, and industry narrative, then this role has your name written all over it, and we want to hear from you!
