This global non-profit organization, which funds research and conservation and inspires new generations through media and educational initiatives, is looking for a Director of Software Engineering who will amplify its digital impact through value-based product delivery, transformational data services, and world-class support and infrastructure services. Among their many exciting initiatives, they’re working on establishing a greenfield data-mesh architecture, and you will be an integral player in making it happen! Plus, you’ll create strategy and best practices for the engineering team, while working closely with tech leadership and product on the development of product roadmaps and tech’s architectural runway. You will 100% be THE person to develop engineering KPIs and performance metrics. You’ll keep the team accountable for hitting these KPIs and creating mature practices, standards, and operational and maintenance governance. Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You have 6+ years of development experience with progressively increasing responsibility for leading teams and organizations. This includes product development across all phases of the lifecycle – from prototyping to launch and beyond. Ideally, you have experience with microservices. You’re interested in data-mesh architecture (or you’ve established one before). You know how to reel in long-tail migration and focus work around the principles of fewer, bigger, better. You should be highly process oriented and excited to establish and execute a long-term strategy.
You must have substantial experience working with multiple functional disciplines (including senior-level management, product management, reliability engineering, UX design, and operations) to ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality software products and services. Plus, you can show that you’ve been successful working with on- and off-site teams to develop and launch excellent technical products. Your technical team is entirely located in Eastern Europe, so you should feel comfortable working with remote teams.
