Hands-On Engineering Team Lead Wanted at Renowned SaaS Platform
Salary range: $190,000 – $215,000 plus bonus
Are You the Missing Piece?
A well-known, highly respected cybersecurity / identity SaaS platform in hypergrowth mode is quietly building out a world-class infrastructure and identity function. In response, they need a Senior Engineering Manager who can not only architect but also execute, with a heavy focus on infrastructure and identity, rather than security (FedRAMP experience is a must).
This is not a policy-only, slide-deck, or advisory security role. This is a build-and-run seat. You’ll be responsible for core SaaS operations with a heavy emphasis on identity, access, and cloud infrastructure, working end-to-end: from early architecture decisions through day-to-day provisioning and operational reality. One hour, you’re designing identity patterns that will scale with the business. Next, you’re rolling up your sleeves and provisioning accounts because the team needs it done now.
The company is in hypergrowth, actively building the team, and led by a down-to-earth, highly respected leader who is known as a strong mentor and operator. The identity space here is treated as mission-critical infrastructure, not a compliance afterthought.
If you like being close to the systems, close to the business, and trusted to make real decisions, this is that kind of role. Plus, you’ll eventually be leading a team, so people-managing experience is welcome.
What’s it going to take to score an interview?
You’re a doer first, with the judgment to think like a Team Leader. Specifically, you bring:
- Deep, hands-on experience owning cloud infrastructure and identity systems in production (IAM, SSO, SAML, federation, provisioning workflows)
- Comfort being both strategic and operational, designing architectures while also executing the unglamorous work when needed
- Clear examples of end-to-end ownership: you designed it, lived with it, evolved it, and operated it
- Strong instincts around identity as infrastructure, not just security theater
- Real experience implementing identity systems yourself (not just advising, auditing, or reviewing others’ work)
- Familiarity working in regulated or government-adjacent environments, with enough context to navigate FedRAMP-related constraints without getting stuck in them
- Experience with SSPs and POA&Ms in a FedRAMP context — and the ability to articulate what you personally owned vs. executed
- A bias toward action: when something needs to be provisioned, fixed, or unblocked, you handle it
- Engagement-management instincts — you care about the health of the system, the project, and the business at the same time
Bonus points if:
- You’ve had real decision-making authority in past roles (not just implementing marching orders)
- You enjoy operating at the senior/principal level, thinking one level up while staying hands-on
- You’re energized by fast-moving environments where process is built while scaling
You should take this meeting because …
This is a chance to step into a high-impact, high-ownership, fully remote role at a well-known and respected company, led by someone who values pragmatism over posturing. In this role, identity and infrastructure actually matter, and you’ll be trusted to make architectural calls and execute. So, if you don’t want to disappear into GRC, audits, or purely advisory security work and you want to build, run, and improve real systems, then this is the gig for you. Not to mention – if you’re looking for a seat where your technical judgment, execution muscle, and ability to operate in ambiguity all get used daily, this is the next conversation you need to have. We want to hear from you today!
