The Hired Guns are seeking a Learning and Development Manager to build the first formal L & D program from the ground up for a dynamic, creative, collaborative media agency with an unbeatable corporate culture.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
As the Learning and Development Manager for this fast-growing, close-knit agency full of energetic, creative people, you’ll have the opportunity to build a heavily resourced curriculum from the ground up, shaping it, mentoring others, and creating something you can be proud of.
You’ll collaborate with management at all levels to map out curricula, then design and deliver training modules ranging from onboarding entry-level employees to improving leadership skills for high-level managers. It’s a big, exciting job where your stamp will be on every element of L & D: it’s you who’ll be writing the materials, building the decks, and, initially, doing the presenting and teaching.
You’ll ensure that your content is relevant and current by staying abreast of best practices in L & D as well as in the media and agency spaces and keeping up with the fast pace of change in platforms, technologies, and business trends. You’ll gear your material so that it is effective and impactful as well as laser-targeted to the audience’s experience level and needs. Last but not least, you’ll meet the challenge of reaching remote and distributed audiences in the time of COVID and beyond.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You’re an experienced expert trainer with a deep understanding of digital media and the agency business. You also excel at designing, building, and rolling out training programs and have experience coordinating a large number of complex courses at multiple physical sites. You’re at the front of the curve in terms of learning technology, particularly what it takes to deliver compelling, effective remote training. And on the subject matter side, you are abreast of the latest trends in digital media and marketing and the digital agency space, so you know what skills and training agency people at every level of every role need to know in order to succeed in their careers. Experience working with LMS is a big plus.
You have an energetic personality, a persuasive and confident communication style, and are a brilliant teacher. You are at ease and effective whether your audience is the CEO or a new class of entry-level trainees. You’re a problem solver who seizes initiative, solves problems before they happen, and spots new opportunities from miles away.
You’re the type of person who fits right in at this agency, which loves interesting teammates with rich outside-work lives, along with an independent spirit and entrepreneurial mindset. They’re looking for independent thinkers with initiative, a love of autonomy, and a zest for communication and collaboration.
The Inside Skinny
Why you should quit your job right now and join this organization!
This agency consistently lands on all kinds of best-places-to-work lists. It’s close-knit, dedicated, and growing rapidly: as Learning and Development Manager, you’ve got an essential role to play in that growth by propagating processes, accelerating the learning curve, and communicating company culture as new people come on board.
