A disruptive news and entertainment brand needs a Senior Manager of Ad Operations to oversee an end-to-end revitalization of their advertising ecosystem. They’re looking for a skilled Ad Ops pro to evaluate their current system, tell them what’s working, what’s not working, and where the opportunities for growth lie. This role is a blend of strategy and hands-on tactical know-how.
This gig is all about maximizing. Maximizing views, clicks, yield, and fill. But there’s some work to do before you start boosting the stats.
The first order of business here will be to take stock of this company’s current ad ops situation. Once you’ve developed a comprehensive understanding of what’s what, you’ll make recommendations. You’re going to be the Ad Ops expert here, and they expect you to be swift and decisive. Cut what’s not working, improve what’s slightly under-performing, and do a lot more of what is working.
You’re going to identify opportunities for new partnerships, make recommendations on those partnerships, and then take action. You’ll also work with ad networks to fill unused inventory. Buying and selling traffic? We’d love to see you tackle that too.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be doing a lot more than just plugging in ads. You’ll monitor campaigns’ performance to ensure that they’re running properly and tracking with goals. You’ll own their performance, as well, and will report on their metrics. Over-performance of ads is expected. After all, you’re the Maximizer.
This is a highly collaborative role in which you’ll work directly with Product, Editorial, and Business to ensure that your ad serving work complements and is supported by larger site decisions.
You’re an experienced Ad Operations Manager for a well-trafficked media property. Your trip up the Ad Ops ladder has taught you best practices for troubleshooting under-performing ads and then helping their metrics go stratospheric. Your resume is packed with successful campaigns and dramatic turnarounds.
You understand the Ad Ops ecosystem from end to end. You know how Ad Ops impacts Sales, Product, and Tech, and you’ve got loads of experience building successful partnerships with these teams.
Analytics are your best friend. You’ve got exceptional analytical chops and love to dig into the data to uncover insights that help you boost ad performance.
You’ve also worked with multiple Ad networks to fill unused inventory. You’re a skilled manager of these third-party vendors. You maintain a relationship with many of these networks, and can use your contacts to get a inventory filled quickly.
The right Hired Gun here is someone with a demonstrated track record of increasing ad revenue through direct craftiness and sheer focused effort. If you can tell us about specific campaigns that you managed (or turned around) with seismic results, you might just be The One. Also, If you’ve got experience buying and selling traffic, that will be a serious feather in your cap.
This is a chance for a seasoned Ad Ops pro to take ownership at major media property. If this sounds like you, get your metrics together and hit us up.
