Narrative Director with People Management + Performance Marketing Experience Wanted!
Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000 per year
One of the world’s fastest-growing audio-series apps is looking for a total boss who has both a creative lens and a performance-marketing lens to manage a team of 20+ writers and directors to success.
Are You the Missing Piece?
You’re excited to own and define the creative strategies of this platform’s audio shows, while simultaneously being responsible for user acquisition and revenue growth of these shows across genres. You know how to lead a team of promo writers of different expertise to success, familiarizing them with the rules of audio storytelling and empowering them to create impactful content. You have a proven track record of developing and executing razor-sharp creative strategies for powerful promos that achieve benchmark acquisition and retention metrics. Last but not least, you’re a highly motivated badass who works comfortably and autonomously in a fast-paced and continuous iterative environment.
What’s it going to take to score an interview?
- You exude boss energy (in a good way) and enjoy managing teams of creatives: You have 2+ years of management experience leading a team of at least 10+ writers. You must also have 3+ years of experience as a creative lead or director owning the creative strategy and execution in a heavily iterative environment (like gaming). Plus, you’re comfortable designing modules and training your team to set them up for long-term success.
- You have a performance-marketing copywriting background: To do this job right, you must have 3+ years of screenwriting and/or copywriting experience (YouTube content conceptualizers, investigative journalism writers, online tabloid writers, digital entertainment/magazine writers, gaming writers/conceptualizers) with 2+ years of strong digital/performance marketing experience (this means you’ve worked on customer acquisition and retention metrics as well as strategy and execution for 360-degree performance-marketing campaigns). Plus, you’re accustomed to providing subject-matter expertise to cross-functional business and technical teams on initiatives such as A/B testing and data modeling.
- You understand media trends: You’re savvy when it comes to knowing audience behavior and market dynamics. Major plus if you’ve worked at creator studios, social media platforms, or serialized streaming apps.
- You have strong relationships within the creative community: You’re a trusted creative strategist who has built lasting relationships and a name for yourself within the US.
- You foster a culture of innovation and collaboration: You’re an empathetic people leader with a proven track record of effecting positive change in a high-growth, fast-paced, cutting-edge media organization.
