The Hired Guns are seeking a Product Designer to take on a long-term contract role with a leading medical institution known for its best-in-class digital presence. If you have strong visual and interaction design skills and an interest in innovating the patient experience, we’d love to hear from you!
Nitty Gritty
If you’re looking for a challenging digital design gig with lots of variety, this is the one! Get ready to start creating lots of meaty designs for landing pages and clinician profile pages, interfaces with tools and features such as appointment booking and communication with care providers.
You’ll be given plenty of guidance, but you’ll also be expected to contribute your own ideas. You’ll need to work within an existing design system and style, but at the same time look for ways to innovate and improve. Your designs will go through multiple iterations and changes, so be prepared to take direction and to adjust your assumptions as you go.
You’ll collaborate with development, product management, user experience and research. You’ll brainstorm with them, look at data and research, and inform your designs accordingly. Out of this collaboration will come a ton of learning that will make you a more sophisticated designer.
Hired Gun Profile
Strong visual and interface design required. You must be interested in learning about data-driven and research-driven design, interaction design and UX (and it’s a strong plus if you have hands-on experience in any of those).
We’re looking for 3 to 5 years’ design experience that includes designing for large and complex sites and large clients with multiple stakeholders. The client isn’t limiting their candidate pool to any particular industry: as long as you have a track record of work on hefty, interactive digital products, you could be a fit for this gig.
You’re highly detail-oriented: issues don’t get past you unnoticed and undiscussed. But you realize that compromise is a part of life, so you don’t take a rigid or proprietary stance on your own ideas. You love to take initiative, and you’re looking for a role that allows you to innovate in ways that improve people’s lives, while strengthening and broadening your product design skills.
Inside Skinny
Our client will love it if you have development experience, or at least have worked closely enough with developers that you have an understanding of how design gets realized in code.
Net Net
We know, “taking it to the next level” is a cliche. But this here truly is a difficult-to-find opportunity to build out your skills and follow your interests, setting you on the path to more senior digital design roles or to pivot your career to a product management or user experience track.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, creed, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, disability, or any other status protected by applicable law.
