You’re in luck! This ultra-talented yet reasonably-sized digital agency cast its line into the water and has hooked a pod of new client whales. Now they need somebody just like you to come on board and work closely with their biggest, most prestigious client to gain the deepest possible understanding of its needs — and then help convert that understanding into real product. It’s a contract-to-hire gig, meaning that if you kill it the way we think you’ll kill it, you’re looking at a mighty rosy future indeed.
Nitty Gritty
Like we say, job one is to get to know the client extremely well, coming to an intimate understanding of its brand, its relationships with its customers, its business goals, its overarching strategy, its marketing and advertising history, its wants and preferences. Job two is to work with your colleagues on a plan to answer and communicate all of the above via a set of world-class products (overall digital platform, loyalty programs, etc.). Job three is working with a team of best-of-the-best producers, architects, developers, designers and writers to get the thing built efficiently and effectively.
As a big, strategic thinker, part of your role will entail educating the team about the work, owning the product through an Agile workflow, leveraging the team’s talents, tools and systems to drive toward hard deliverables. At your side will be the agency’s CTO, VP of UX, and account directors, as well as very senior stakeholders with the client firm. You’ll manage timelines, staffing plans and budgets, you’ll negotiate third-party contracts, and you’ll communicate goals, issues and progress, both internally and externally, on an ongoing basis.
Hired Gun Profile
You have seven or more years of product management experience in digital advertising, having built some very impressive stuff in your day. While you’re not in the least wanting when it comes to design and tech skills, you understand your work to be, at heart, that of a communicator: What you do extremely well is listen carefully to clients about what they need, gather input and insight from your team, and then distribute guidance, feedback and expectations in clear, effective language.
You’re highly organized, able to keep close watch on the trees without losing sight of the forest. You love managing people and inspiring teams, and get deep satisfaction from knowing that your guidance and wise management have resulted in winning products with lasting impact. Finally, you have a great sense of humor and are a pleasure to work with — you can see yourself holed up with a host of very smart, funny, quirky, driven Brooklyn types and making creative magic happen.
Inside Skinny
Variety of experience is at a premium here; demonstrate that you’ve done it all — campaign strategy, site development, content creation — and you’ll warm the hearts of this team.
