The Hired Guns are seeking a talented Product Manager with deep knowledge of UX to help create content-rich consumer experiences for the world’s most famous and trusted source of reference knowledge.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the company and why they need to hire you!
Serving a global audience of more than two billion users, this famous publishing company is looking for an experienced Product Manager who’s passionate about creating innovative and engaging products (games, quizzes etc.) that people love to use. There are a lot of experiences this team could build, but it will be your role to choose which products will be most impactful and appealing to a whole new generation of consumers. As Product Manager, you’ll translate business needs into requirements and user stories. It will be your responsibility to manage products from conception through to development and launch, with ongoing testing and iteration. You’ll work closely with developers, designers, SEO, and the business team to develop new online features and tools, while improving existing ones. Data-driven decision making will be key; you will use data (Google Analytics and other tools) to evaluate and refine products based on KPIs and generate new product ideas based on market needs, brand fit, business value, and your sense of what will inform and engage a very large, new consumer audience.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager for a consumer site, with a track record of creating successful and engaging products. It’s easy for you to find scalable solutions that serve the needs of millions of users. It’s great if you have a passion for fact-based content and a desire to make general reference information and dictionary information more useful and engaging. You’re a self-starter who can lead a project, but you also collaborate brilliantly with others. It’s great if you’re interested in creating interactive gaming experiences and/or have experience in creating gaming products, like quizzes. Experience using data (Google Analytics or similar) to make product decisions is a must. It’s a plus if you have a background working with iOS and Android apps, subscription and membership programs, and/or experience working with A/B testing tools, such as Optimize.
