This Hired Guns client, a leading resource for subject-matter expertise in fields like medicine, science, marketing, and engineering, is looking for a talented Product Manager to own the product cycle for their master data systems, processes, and standards.
You’ve spent the last few years gaining experience with master data management products – including taxonomies and ontology – at a leading data-driven online company. You have a passion for working with high-volume structured data that drives business solutions and a deep understanding of data management best practices, web data sources, interfaces, services, and standards. Add to that some exceptional analytical skills and the ability to understand and apply KPIs and metrics to product development cycles, and you’re the guy/gal.
As one of the company’s most valuable assets, data systems form the backbone of all their products – both enterprise and consumer-facing. As the Product Manager of Master Data Systems, you will be responsible for all aspects of the strategic and tactical planning around this vital business function. This means you will own the data services product cycle from design through development, deployment, and operation. Additionally, you will develop, gather, and write product requirements (including agile story grooming and iteration planning) and plot design requirements for all company products to a global data services roadmap.
Communication is vital to this role, as you will need to effectively communicate dependencies back to company stakeholders. As you procure and integrate data from external sources, you’ll be expected to manage relationships with external data partners; and of course, it’s on you to be an outspoken advocate for all users, defending usability and design despite tight schedules.
It will be a tremendous help if you have hands-on experience with highly-available data-driven products as a developer or DBA, and if you have a working knowledge of agile development tools such as Basecamp and Rally.
A company of experts. Are you up for the challenge?
