This brand started with a great idea, moved on to significant fundraising, an IPO, a steady increase in market share, and a doubling in the size of its staff over the past year. They’re off to the races, but to really get where they’re going, they need somebody like you, a gifted product marketing and engagement expert, to be the centerpiece of the team’s efforts toward its ambitious user-experience and monetization goals. It’s an enticing opportunity for someone who wants to make a mark on a young company that looks like it’ll be around for the long haul.
Nitty Gritty
At the highest level, you’ll be developing a creative strategy for building a set of user experiences (on both the B2B and B2C fronts) that result in high growth — particularly in the area of converting users once they’ve been invited to use the company’s services. In practice, that’ll mean owning and running the company’s consumer marketing and email technology system and looking for ways to drive engagement both by improving the existing channel — currently everything leans on email — as well as developing new ones (SMS, anyone?). At every stage, you’ll keep a critical eye on the existing toolkit, which you’ll leverage fully, and be thinking of ways to add to it, engineering a set of user experiences and tech features to hook users and get them on board past the various critical conversion points. You’ll create launch and test plans, you’ll gather user feedback, and you’ll carefully monitor engagement to measure against the KPIs and overall business goals that’ll be the drivers of everything you do.
Hired Gun Profile
In a career heavily focused on user experience and marketing, you’ve distinguished yourself as a growth-oriented, strategic thinker and project manager, equally capable of designing a smart strategy and of executing upon it to admirable success. That means great ease with stakeholders of all stripes as well as with the engineers and creative types who actually build your stuff. You’re particularly well versed in email marketing, adept at HTML, and experienced in customer-feedback gathering and analytics. As for the tools with which you’re intimate, you’ve got your Mixpanel and your Domo, and your Iterable, and your Photoshop, and certainly your Excel and your good ol’ Google Sheets.
But most importantly, you bring passion and vigor to the role. You’re always in the game, always problem-solving, eager to collaborate and move things forward. At base, you’re driven by a desire to make the lives of consumers easier, to make all their experiences smoother. Your upbeat personality and your gift for communication make you a pleasure to work with.
Inside Skinny
Think of it this way: We’re looking for somebody who gets really excited at the prospect of building a product that’s truly never existed before.
