We’re looking for a dynamic Product Manager to help expand the web and application development program for a music-obsessed television network (Imagine that! A TV network that actually plays music!). This is a great gig for an up-and-coming Product person to grab hold of and ride to the next level.
As you’ve come up the Product side, you’ve taken complete responsibility for the development of a passel of consumer-friendly apps and digital desktop products. You’re fully conversant with current trends in social media, SEO, and Search, and you know the benefits and downsides of all the major music sites and apps, from Shazam to Stereogum to Spotify. You combine this with a solid grounding in web technology (especially video) and data architecture, as well as typical web development cycles and methodology.
You’ve also got some experience with building products that are optimized for video-heavy web experiences, as well. The site itself is a mixture of video, audio, and traditional content, so being conversant in best practices for all three is ideal.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for executing to the vision of the key stakeholders. You’ll have a seat at the table when it comes to determining product strategy, and once you prove yourself, you can earn a greater stake in deciding what’s what.
You’ll also be closely tracking metrics such as viewer engagement and impressions, and bubbling that up to the Product Director. Once decisions are made from those findings, you’ll be tasked with executing to them. The site itself is a mixture of video, audio, and traditional content, so being conversant in best practices for all three is ideal. If you have concerns about joining a media company that views the digital division as a pure marketing channel that exists solely to promote tune-in, have no fear. That couldn’t be further from the truth here, as this is one company that’s going all-in when it comes to transforming itself into a digital-focused company. Trust us, this is a chance to help bring the new paradigm of music consumption to the next level.
You can’t take this gig if you don’t want to single-handedly transform the music scene. If you’ve been accused of being a CTO’s kind of product manager, well then this is the gig for you. Geeks love you. And the business side does too.
If you’re looking for an innovative consumer-oriented company where you’ll have a chance to watch and learn how a product strategy comes together and then see how it gets executed from end-to-end, then we want to hear from you immediately!
