The Hired Guns are seeking a talented and meticulous Program Manager, User Research to support the research life cycle – scheduling, recruiting participants, streamlining research operations, and facilitating team communications – at one of the most trusted and respected banks in the nation.

This innovative bank operates more like a tech startup (think Agile) than a financial institution, and they’re rapidly elevating their impact and vision, specifically when it comes to user research. To accelerate that effort, they’re looking for an experienced program manager to focus on user research and collaborate with team members to determine research scope. You’ll work with developers to enhance tools to meet the needs of the research and design team. You’ll define and implement a participant recruiting plan to grow the proprietary user research community database. Plus, you’ll identify, screen, and select candidates that meet the appropriate qualifications based on research needs. This role also offers the opportunity to design and manage the research incentive program to attract and compensate participants and oversee design workshops and space for field research, including identifying the best technology for the labs. You’ll also be tasked with managing vendor relationships to support the end-to-end research and design process.

Note, you’ll have to be in the office in NYC 3 days a week, but it’s a super-relaxed environment — nobody’s watching the clock or judging the fact that you have sneakers on!

How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of related experience coordinating projects and resources for a research or design team. You must have some experience with UX research and be passionate about it! It’s imperative that you be able to manage multiple programs simultaneously (you’ll be juggling 5 programs) and have excellent project management skills. You can spot a typo a mile away, and you rule calendars with an iron fist. You’re a self-starter who can identify gaps and opportunities to create more efficient processes. You have a passion for people and cultures, excellent time-management skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment. Bonus if you’ve worked with vendors in the past and cultivated those relationships. Note, some travel is required for this role, so you need to be open to that.
