The Hired Guns are seeking a Project Manager with experience in tech project implementation and an affinity for the retail space to spearhead the technology enablement of a leading fashion brand’s in-store experience.
Nitty Gritty
You’re a project manager who loves the retail and fashion spaces, who has a hearty digital component to your pedigree but who loves to build things that touch the “real world”. In this gig, you’ll be working with a well-known fashion label with a solid brick-and-mortar retail presence. As a certified “B” corporation, they live a distinctive and heartfelt commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and community engagement.
You’ll be the one who makes sure that all of the in-store systems and technology are implemented, integrated, and in-tune. This means everything from POS systems, in-store event management tools, integrations with inventory management systems, and systems supporting omnichannel retail experience, to wifi, phones, and other infrastructure.
You’ll own the project schedules, and you’ll be accountable for on-time, on-budget completion by achieving buy-in from all stakeholders and maintaining constant communication and follow-through. You’ll manage vendors and generate documentation and internal updates. You’ll run project team meetings, manage and communicate risk, and act decisively to remove obstacles. And you’ll manage conflict and complexity with the utmost diplomacy.
Hired Gun Profile
You’re an enthusiastic and creative doer, self-starter, and problem solver: when things don’t go according to plan, you adjust the plan and keep running. You thrive in a dynamic setting where tight deadlines, multiple projects, and frequent changes are the norm. You communicate to the point of over-communication to make sure things get done, leaving nothing to chance. You have a strong interest in the retail experience of the future.
Required for this role are … exceptional project management experience with exposure to Agile/Scrum, Lean, and Waterfall methodologies … experience with Jira and advanced knowledge of Excel … experience with system integration and managing projects within budgets and time frames successfully … and some level of experience working in retail.
The ideal Gun for this gig has all of that, PLUS … has worked specifically in retail or retail operations in the apparel space, with exposure to DTC and omnichannel … has their PMI or other recognized certification … has worked with SmartSheets.
Inside Skinny
If you tick almost all of the boxes, but your only retail exposure was stocking the shelves at the Gap on your summer vacation, we’d still be happy to hear from you!
