The Hired Guns are seeking a seasoned, solutions-oriented Sales Director to build a scalable broadcast radio / TV sales process for a crowdsourced technology platform that delivers winning professional short-form creative content to businesses small and large.
Salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year + bonus

This innovative online platform provides cost-effective, custom creative content (think audio ad script copy on demand) to media companies, agencies, and brands looking to scale creative solutions and messaging for a multitude of workflows. By marrying advanced technology with their distributed network of creative talent, this platform delivers engaging, original, and witty content – sometimes within 24-hour turnaround times! They’ve had huge success in 2022; their clients’ account execs saved on average over 90 minutes a week writing copy, helping them increase close rates by 30% and deal sizes by 40%.
Now, here’s where you come in: In 2023, they’re aiming to launch an end-to-end full production service of audio ads. In response, they’re looking for a strategic and creative sales leader to build and implement a sales process geared to hit their ambitious revenue goals. As the Sales Director, you will build out a sales team and scalable sales process (from lead gen to deal close) from scratch. How will you capture the broadcast space? By identifying and implementing nimble, cost-effective tools and systems to support the sales process, of course! You’ll develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge. Plus, you’ll collaborate with the marketing department to design and update collateral.

How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 7 years of experience as a seller in the broadcast industry. It’s a plus if you have experience selling both for a broadcaster and for a vendor that serves broadcasters. Experience building a sales system and managing a sales team is a must (you will be both a player and a coach as you build out the sales team). You have a passionate understanding of the value that good copy provides in enhancing the advertising ecosystem. You’re highly skilled at networking and uncovering new opportunities. You have a hunter mentality with proven experience building a regional territory. It goes without saying that you have strong business acumen and are comfortable selling and presenting to senior-level executives. Strong negotiation and closing skills are crucial.
