Our client has been a trusted source of weather information, on various platforms, for decades now. As it barrels along through its growth cycle, it’s undergoing a kind of digital renaissance, with a mighty strong emphasis on advertising optimization. That is where you come in. The client needs a talented professional to scrutinize its products and platforms with a great deal of analytical rigor in order to make sure that the company is putting its best advertising foot forward. It promises to be an unusual and interesting kind of work, for a brand that remains a dominant feature of the media landscape.
The Nitty Gritty
Reporting to the VP of Measurement, you’ll close-study the firm’s targeting tactics on multiple platforms and analyze product performance with an eye toward pulling out the broad trends and precision findings that can be passed on to the teams to make improvements and set standards. The marketing people will be full of questions – What works? Why did this fall flat? Who’s the best target for this new product? What features should we add or drop? – and the bulk of your job will consist of pulling together the relevant data and exploiting it to generate the answers. Then, of course, you’ll communicate those answers, via well-written reports, presentations, or informal conversations.
You’ll also provide inputs for facilitating benchmarks and will produce case studies as needed. You’ll build out new sets of data as well as pulling on the extensive proprietary resources that already exist in-house. And you’ll be more than welcome to suggest and develop new sources of data that can be made to talk with what your team already has at its disposal.
Hired Gun Profile
Primarily a data analyst, you’ve also ideally spent some time in ad tech so that you have a good handle on the all-important content/data/revenue matrix. When it comes to data science, you’re comfortable collecting and cleaning data, performing multivariate testing and undertaking sophisticated analyses. There may be analytics platforms that you can’t work within, but if there are, you haven’t heard of them.
Interpersonally, you’re collaborative and flexible, happy to pitch in on a team that’s doing new, relatively open-ended stuff. And while your work is disciplined and rigorous, you also bring an intuitive, creative approach to analysis.
This client strongly emphasizes innovation, so if your resume includes examples of times when you’ve successfully taken a fresh approach to an analytical challenge, we’d love to hear about it.
Growing, established company. Unique mission. Fresh, innovative approach to analysis. Pretty hard to beat, isn’t it?
