The Hired Guns seeks a Senior Integrated Producer/Project Manager to join a white-hot in-house agency within an expanding media brand. The producer and project manager sides of the role are perfectly balanced; you’ll use all your PM bag of tricks to bring structure to the team’s hyper-creativity and your top risk-management chops to keep the trains on time and on budget. On the other hand, you’ll also apply your mad production skills to push work through with brute strength and hustle, working around obstacles and shifting big boulders with aplomb. If you want to bring your talents to the big leagues, this is your perfect gig.
Nitty Gritty
This branded-content agency (sister to a major media brand) works with top-tier Fortune 500 clients and lives by the motto that smart thinking leads to stand-out work. They dig in and do what it takes to fuel the creative process from start to finish. They operate start-up style — and place a high value on the ability to roll up your sleeves and execute, no matter how lofty your title. As a senior integrated producer/project manager, you’ll be the lead on all project phases from project inception to completion across all types of projects, including digital, experiential, multimedia, video, photo, editorial and print. You’ll also provide oversight for the production team for all stages of content development from creative concepting, planning, pre-production, production and post-production.
You’ll be responsible for leading the execution integrated programs semi-independently, collaborating with stakeholders at the top level of the agency and the client’s office, managing a team of producers (we’re hiring BTW), and working with leaders of all the various departments. For example, when you build out your projects’ budgets, you’ll be working across the entire company, not just the production team.
You’ll handle every stage of the project pitch, budget/scope, timeline, execution, launch, and wrap-up. You’ll own all the documentation, much of which you’ll craft yourself: proposals, scopes of work, production schedules, budgets, etc. You’ll touch every aspect of the firm’s digital business and work across departments with a host of digital professionals, from strategists and videographers to visual designers and developers — you’ll collaborate, lead (and sometimes drive) people to do their best work for a roster of household-name brands.
You’ll also get face-time with clients and will have a real focus on client satisfaction, keeping their expectations tightly-managed while ensuring quality work that is delivered on budget and on time.
What Success Looks Like
Within a year, you’ll be managing a tight team of producers that can turn any high-concept idea, in any medium, into a jaw-dropping, client-wowing campaign. You’ll know the organization’s strengths and will have the ability to anticipate project issues/risks and clearly communicate resolutions to team and the clients.
Hired Gun Profile
Have you pitched, scoped, and delivered against projects over a million dollars in your career? Good, that’s the first requirement to be a senior integrated producer/project manager at this firm. Are you highly regarded by your teammates and have you earned the trust of creative and account management teams? Then you check another box for this role. Are you both process-driven and solutions-oriented? Another box checked. Are you able to teach others and willing to learn new skills? Check. Do you have the foresight to due top-level risk management? Check. Do these adjectives describe you? Confident, approachable, likeable, creative, quick-thinking, passionate, ambitious? Great.
Most of all, are you not just an experienced integrated producer, but one with serious project management chops? No joke, for this role, you’ll need to be a master of the steps and the tools — in fact, you can gantt and kanban as gracefully as a dancer can waltz and can-can. You understand that a SoW can be a pig to deliver and you embrace the challenge of communication, collaboration, and using your fine-tuned emotional intelligence to manage big personalities. You know that creative work can get messy, so you use your experience, flexibility and organizational skills to push for results, not conflicts. You’re the head problem solver: creative, speedy, eager to learn and willing to teach, thinking two steps ahead of the team and staying calm under pressure.
The reward? You’ll spend almost every day working with the finest professionals in the business, while building a portfolio of award-winning work.
