The Hired Guns are seeking a Senior User Experience Designer, Omnichannel to team up with a leader in e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail and create innovative experiences that meld real-world and virtual shopping capabilities seamlessly.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
This top-ten e-commerce player has had ten consecutive years of double-digit growth, and they are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to lead the omnichannel end of UX, which is a major push for them right now.
Reporting to the Director of App and Omni, you will be the lead UXer charged with developing an elevated customer-centric omnichannel shopping experience. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders in Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics responsible for all aspects of omni experience — both refining and sharpening their current capabilities and dreaming up new ones. You’ll also work closely with partners within the Design and UX organization who are innovating everything from product search to checkout to app.
Together you will dream up and deliver groundbreaking results for in-store retail experiences like curbside pickup, touchless/contactless checkout, in-store wayfinding and navigation, and try-on technology—infusing each experience with a seamless element of delight.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
Predicting what a customer needs before they do is your superpower, and you’re aware that great UX means nothing without a strong foundation of design, research, and strategy. You’ve not only built remarkable omnichannel experiences, you’re constantly pushing the envelope, challenging tech teams and colleagues to keep up with you, not the other way around. We’re talking about someone who knows how to build native, responsive, and in-store experiences that are modern, intuitive, frictionless, ambient, and personalized.
Whether your background is in retail/e-tail, travel, or hospitality, to be a fit for this role, you must have a gorgeous portfolio that demonstrates a strong visual aesthetic as beautiful as it is innovative. Ideally, your expertise was initially developed at a top-tier visual design program where you mastered the fundamentals. Later, your chops were further honed at forward-thinking companies that placed an emphasis on human-centered design.
Beyond excellent omni UX design skills, you’re also a strategic thinker—someone who can collaborate brilliantly with all kinds of stakeholders, especially in Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Merchandising.
