The Hired Guns are seeking a Senior UX Designer who’s super-strong on the research side to play a central role in conceptualizing a first-of-its-kind marketplace that will revolutionize the real estate business. You’ll be the first UX hire at a startup company that has identified a huge market opportunity in the proptech space.
Nitty Gritty
Think there are no more amazing startups with room on the ground floor? Think again. The team building this marketplace is a startup venture within an established early-stage company that’s already reengineered the real estate business in numerous ways. We need to keep the exact nature of this new marketplace on the DL right now, but suffice to say it (like you) will be kind of a big deal.
It’s in the pilot stage now, so there’s plenty of time for you to have a major impact on the shape of the final product. Your first mission will be to scope out the market and perform research, so you’ll be spending a lot of time talking with prospective customers. And from there on out, research will continue to be a hugely important component of your job.
But of course that’s not all. As the senior, and first, and for now only, UXer on the team, you’ll cover the gamut: roadmapping, user personas and journeys, wireframing, prototyping, documentation, the works. You’ll be reporting to the Chief Product Officer and working with an outstanding cross-functional team of product, design, and development stars.
Hired Gun Profile
You’re a senior (5+ years) UXer who has helped dream up and build out a number of significant products or experiences that have broken new ground. (It’s gotta be more than site redesigns.) Ideally that includes building a B2B online marketplace or exchange (possibly in the financial/ fintech or B2B commerce spaces) or a prominent consumer e-commerce platform. You DON’T need to have a real-estate background.
You have substantial expertise in UX research, both quantitative and qualitative, and you’re skilled in synthesizing research data to tell impactful stories. If you’re interviewed, be ready to talk in detail about the kind of product/UX research you’ve done.
You’re an excellent communicator and presenter who’s comfortable in front of customers and loves to work with a team that’s pumped to achieve great things.
Portfolio required.
