As their new Senior Writer – Content Strategist, you’ll have the awesome (in all senses of the word) responsibility for being the guiding voice of the company right when it bursts onto the scene. Everything from consumer-facing explainers to B2B marketing to C-suite-level ghostwriting to sure-to-go-viral social posts to influential white papers: it’s all you. Your task will be nothing less than to broadcast the company’s mission and educate audiences about the brand-new field of conversational commerce. In short, this is an extremely rare opportunity for a strategically-minded writer and content expert to be an essential part of something that’s never been done before.

You are a creative, strategic and dynamic wordsmith who thrives in a fast-paced, all-hands-on-deck startup environment. You have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field. Perhaps in the past you worked at a communications or PR agency, in-house at a B2B brand (preferably in marketing), or as a contributor to a B2B or tech publication. You have enough experience to be considered a senior writer, a fierce individual contributor who doesn’t need handholding and can self-edit on the fly. Remember, starting out you will be “it” for the content operation: there is no team, and you alone will be establishing the voice, tone, and point of view across all content types and channels. So you had best be the kind of person who hits the ground not just running but sprinting, who enjoys drinking from a fire hose, and who eats challenge for breakfast.
It goes without saying that you can create incredibly compelling content on all levels and you’re comfortable writing about a variety of topics, including technology, retail and ecommerce. And to prove it, excellent clips are a must. Seriously, we will ask you for 4-5 clips of varying lengths (e.g., tweets, LinkedIn posts, a white paper, explainer copy, etc.)
