We’re growing fast at THG, and we’re launching a hiring frenzy to try to keep up. We’re looking to hire a Talent Booker who will coordinate the copious interview that our Guns are scoring! We need an awesome communicator, a rapid-fire writer, and someone with psycho organization skills. This gig is part-time and you can work (mostly) from home. Moms, freelancers, and recent grads all welcome to apply!
You’re a people person. You’re engaging, personable, and dependable (this is not everyone, believe us). Maybe you’re a parent with a couple of elementary schoolers at home and you’re looking to enter or re-enter the workforce, but you require a flexible schedule. Or you’re a freelancer looking to add to your project load and rake in a little extra income. You could be a recent grad just finding your footing, and you’re looking for something stable but not overwhelmingly time-consuming. Whatever your current situation, you’re looking to dedicate about half of your week to creating a bridge between NYC’s best digital talent and the most exciting companies out there.
For all our focus on fabulous digital products and cutting-edge design, at the end of the day, we’re in the people business. Even in the digital era, business is defined by the people with whom you work, and the success of our business depends on our people skills. The right person for this gig will be an excellent project manager, be a client communications pro, and will know Gmail and Google Apps like the back of their hand. You’ll also need to have great phone skills (no, we don’t conduct our interviews over SMS).
The person in this role will be in charge of the entire “service experience” for our Hired Guns. You will manage our interview and meeting coordination between our talent, agents, and clients (and all possible combinations of the three). This includes coordinating preliminary internal interviews between our agents and talent who apply to our gigs. It also includes setting up external interviews between talents and our clients, the company hiring managers, for actual job interviews. That’s a lot of busy people with already jammed schedules working on impossible deadlines. We need you to manage these interactions in calm and efficient manner, so that we can speed up our rate of execution.
Ideally, we’d like you to come into the office 1-2 times per week for our planning meetings. Depending on our gig flow, there will be peaks and valleys. We need someone who is comfortable working on the go and who can schedule quickly (often on your smartphone). In terms of workflow, you’ll be expected to check your outstanding meetings early in the morning, conduct the peak of your work from 10-2 p.m., then do an end of the day check-in to clean up any work that’s outstanding. Additionally, when a meeting is happening, you’re the go-to for check-in and must be cool with a candidate or client calling you with any last minute emergencies. You must be drama-free, and able to troubleshoot.
There will be a writing test. Be prepared to show us that you know how to communicate clearly and quickly with others. You don’t need to be F. Scott, but you do need to be able to fire off emails that convey your point and accomplish your task at lightning speed. Just because the work location is remote doesn’t mean you’re not one of us! We want someone who jibes with us, someone who gets our “relaxed professionalism.” We’re a very open culture, and you’ll be working with all members of the team. We want you to feel comfortable working with us under tight deadlines.
This part-time gig won’t eat up your entire week, but you will have very concrete tasks to complete on a daily basis. You will be the point person for managing all THG personnel interactions, and since we’re in the people business, it’s imperative that these operations play out smoothly, day in and day out. We’re taking a creative approach to this hiring, so whatever your current situation is, if this gig sounds like your next move, send us your resume and a cover letter detailing your interests and availability ASAP.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, creed, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, disability, or any other status protected by applicable law.
