Do you know what Beyoncé meant when she said “I dream it, I work hard, I grind ’til I own it?” We believe it means that Queen B subjects her projects to rigorous hypothesis-based analysis. As The Hired Guns reinvents the talent agency for the digital age, we are on the prowl for a Talent Scout who can express this mindset, bringing together the diverse capabilities of analytic thinking, warm interpersonal communication and a deep desire to learn a business, while disrupting an industry.
If this is you, we have only one question: Do you come to slay?
The Hired Guns is transforming the model of a traditional recruiting firm, reinventing the process by which great digital creative talent is discovered and matched with new career opportunities. The organization pushes the boundaries of the traditional job search, with its paper resumes and stuffy interviewers, utilizing instead, an array of digital tools and fresh processes to fast-track the outcome. This Talent Scout will focus on using all the firm’s channels and resources to a cycle of creating, evaluating and refining new strategies designed to increase the pool of qualified candidates. This includes targeting top companies where talent resides, searching social channels (particularly Linkedin) and curating outreach through job boards and other platforms.
The role isn’t merely about implementing new strategies, it’s about really studying what works — A/B testing, breaking down the numbers, testing again — basically running experiments in a digital marketing lab of your own making.
Hired Gun Profile
Business school students were once asked to choose between marketing and finance concentrations. Some chose marketing because they hated math, others chose finance because they hated selling. Little did they know that in 2016, marketers spend large amounts of time on stats and the financial team is expected to attend all the pitch meetings. You, however, would have double-majored. You live and breathe data and think nothing is more fun than spinning the Rubik’s cube of digital user behavior. Your interpersonal skills are sharply honed and that black box on your desk, the one with the handset, curly wire and all the buttons, gets plenty of attention as well.
Budding data scientists, statistical marketers, social media savants will maximize their innate talents while learning a full range of new resume enhancing skills. The firm is small enough that you’ll be exposed to the big picture, yet big enough to employ enterprise-level techniques. The best of both worlds can be yours.
A portfolio of projects/case studies that shows quant-style thinking will leave the rest behind you, looking jealous or crazy.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, disability, or any other status protected by applicable law.
