It really doesn’t get much bigger than this — the role, or the client. This Hired Guns partner is a take-the-lead kind of agency, responsible for some of the biggest campaigns out there today. They’re looking for a Tech Lead who can handle overall execution and organization of their large-scale technology engagements and take ultimate responsibility for transforming the technical requirements into architecture and design documents that will actually create workable solutions. Told ya. Big.
You’ve spent the past handful of years developing and leading large-scale technology engagements, some of which was in an agency environment, and have built applications and websites for large multinational brands. You can master object-oriented design concepts, various frameworks, data storage implementations, and enterprise design patterns, and are up-to-date when it comes to market trends and emerging technologies.
Technically speaking, you’re fluent in programming languages (.NET, Java and PHP, Perl, SQL, Flash/Flex, Ruby-on-Rails, etc.), and can propose alternative solutions and cost-benefit analysis based on these technologies. You’ve got expert-level knowledge in Web 2.0 technologies, including AJAX, social networking and blog platforms, widget development, mobile and emerging digital interfaces. It’s also important you’ve got a thorough understanding of best practices across technologies (client/server-side, QA, deployment, project management etc.).
As Tech Lead, you will be a single point of contact for the IA and creative teams, confirming technological feasibility and driving both internal and external web development teams. Serving as the lead for all implementation, customization, and integration efforts, you will collaborate with production leads to develop estimates and overall implementation solution plans.
The role involves generating substantiated technology and architecture recommendations, and performing problem analysis to identify root causes, outline resolution options, then taking appropriate actions to resolve any problems.
No behind-the-scenes kind of tech work for you: this is a client-facing role, and you will be the voice of technology for the projects. So put your best foot forward.
This role is a chance to shine by giving great direction to vendors and teams, so the work the agency produces is that much better, and that much smarter.
