The Hired Guns are seeking a talented UX Research Lead to manage and steer UX research functions at one of the most trusted and respected banks in the nation.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
This innovative bank operates more like a tech startup (think Agile) than a financial institution, and they’re rapidly elevating their impact and vision, specifically when it comes to the customer journey. To accelerate that effort, they’re looking for an experienced UX Research Lead, a high-visibility role in which you will provide ongoing insights, provocations, and thought leadership on the end-to-end customer journey and back-office processes and workflows. You’ll also be responsible for managing a team of UX researchers including hiring, development, coaching, and performance reviews. You will be “the one” who gets to develop the vision and drive the action plan for how the UX research function will scale to deliver top-tier results for this bank. Plus, you’ll get to collaborate with business stakeholders, designers, product managers, and developers on research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, design, and testing of new concepts. This is a great opportunity to pioneer thought leadership and execute on actionable insights in a super-fun (yes, it’s financial, but fun!) environment at the helm of a talented team.
Note, you’ll have to be in the office in NYC 3 days a week, but it’s a super-relaxed environment — nobody’s watching the clock or judging the fact that you have sneakers on!
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You’re a mixed-methods researcher with a minimum of 8 years of experience in UX research. You excel at providing ongoing thought leadership and support to colleagues conducting evaluative and generative research. You have a keen eye for detail and exceptional ability to identify insights by analysis of quantitative and qualitative data from user research, consumer research, and competitor data. Mentoring a team, wowing stakeholders with actionable insights, and juggling a plethora of projects are all in a day’s work. You’re a whiz at creating communication tools such as journey maps and service blueprints, gathering a continuous pipeline of rich consumer and user data, and generating fresh and relevant ideas for digital and physical products, services, and spaces.
The Inside Skinny
Why you should quit your job right now and join this organization!
This is a high-visibility role that allows you to do research for physical and digital spaces. You’ll get to work with a Qualtrics Specialist AND have a design/research operations team to support you. It’s a great opportunity with tons of work-life balance perks to boot.
