Our client, a lifestyle and media company whose knack for innovation and reinvention is baked into everything it does, seeks a highly engaged and forward-looking Vice President of Product Development who can shepherd the brand to the next great frontier: the marriage of content and commerce.
After at least a decade spent creating great consumer-oriented interactive products, you are intimately familiar with every step of the journey from idea creation, cost/benefit analysis and audience research through execution and analysis.
You’re a maestro at creating the atmosphere needed to nurture talented teams, and many of your former reports have gone on to do great things and to become thought leaders in their own right.
What makes you uniquely qualified for this role is your experience working with ad-supported, content-driven properties as well as your exposure to e-commerce and subscription-based digital products. You are motivated as much by driving incremental page views as you are by creating a more efficient conversion funnel.
You’ll be wearing three main hats here. First, you will be a strategic seer, finding the missing markets the company needs to enter and the white spaces they need to fill. Market trends, audience research, and competitive analysis will all be essential to getting this accomplished.
Second, you’ll be responsible for keeping product goals in line with the overall objectives of the company and its senior sales and marketing teams.
Once those goals are accomplished, you’ll have a good idea of how to take on your third responsibility — new product development. You’ll be leading the design and engineering teams to create products that bring in revenue, strongly engage users, and accomplish this very talented company’s business objectives.
