VP of Digital Transformation Wanted at Billion-Dollar Value-Add Distributor
Salary range: $300,000 to $325,000 base per year, plus bonus
Are You the Missing Piece?
You’re a digital transformation leader who’s done more than just implement tools—you’ve driven significant organizational change. You have experience guiding large-scale, complex B2B or B2B2C businesses through modernization, and you don’t just manage change, you champion it. You thrive at the intersection of strategy, operations, and technology, and you’ve likely worked across matrixed environments where influence matters more than direct authority.
With your strong customer lens and deep operational understanding, you have the know-how to simplify and digitize processes and then layer in AI. You’ve got the vision to see what’s possible and the guts to challenge everything. You’re not a CIO or a strategist: you’re a thought partner to the CEO with the muscle to help lead a company into its next chapter, and an eye to potentially stepping into the COO seat in the future. Perhaps you’ve overhauled ERP systems or led integrations post M&A. Maybe you’re even a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
Note: this company can hire only residents of California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, or Ontario, Canada.
What’s it going to take to score an interview?
- You’ve led digital transformation at scale in a B2B or B2B2C business with 1000+ employees—ideally with distribution, logistics, or complex customer service operations. You understand how front-end and back-end operations connect, can optimize workflows, and your strategies and implementations have a proven track record of directly impacting profitability and operational efficiency.
- You’ve owned change management across silos—sales, operations, IT, customer success, process optimization, and data—without needing positional power to get it done. You are happy to be a very high-level individual contributor (for now!) on the Executive Leadership team while having significant influence over many internal stakeholders.
- You have 15+ years of runway and a desire for longevity—this isn’t a pit stop; it’s a landing pad for the next major chapter of your career.
- You’re AI-aware and AI-curious—you may not build models yourself, but you know how to ask the right questions, implement practical use cases, and push for intelligent automation.
- You’ve worked in complex, highly matrixed environments—you know how to go fast without breaking everything.
- You’re customer-obsessed and understand real customer ops, and help translate chaos into clear, scalable, digital processes.
- Bonus points: Six Sigma Certification; post M&A integration; leading a large-scale ERP integration; significant change management experience
You should take this meeting because …
The groundwork for transformation is already laid, and the company is well into its journey. This isn’t about choosing software—it’s about unifying business units, aligning policies, and unlocking the next level of operational and digital performance. In this role, you’ll work shoulder to shoulder with the executive leadership team as a peer and trusted influencer, with a clear path to evolve into a future COO. You’ll lead change across a highly matrixed organization, driving transformation at the cultural, operational, and technological levels—with AI as a key enabler. This is a role for a creative force, not just a project manager—someone ready to drive real step-change, not incremental tweaks. Not to mention, this global org is already a market leader, with the scale (~1800 employees), complexity, and hunger for innovation to make this a truly career-defining opportunity. Sound good?
