The Hired Guns are seeking a mega-detail-oriented Web Content Producer/Copy Editor who knows their way around a CMS like Indiana Jones in The Temple of Doom. You’re savvy, smart and uncommitted, which means you’re free to sign on for a 6-month tour of duty helping our client, a global management consulting firm, achieve their holy grail — a flawless site launch.
Who would be good for this role? Anyone who has spent significant time uploading and massaging data in a content management system (CMS). WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla are all good CMSs to have cut your teeth on, and SiteCore would be a big plus. A strong work ethic, lots of patience and just the right amount of OCD are a winning combo for this role. Basic HTML skills (lists, links, bold/italic, and other light formatting) are needed. You must possess the Gift of Tag, because the site’s taxonomy will depend on your intuition. And you’re a natural-born copy editor who grimaces every time you see a typo on the front page of the New York Times (not that that ever happens).
For this 6-month assignment, you’ll be dropped midstream into a massive site redesign and relaunch. And because this consulting company is stepping things up a notch by becoming true content creators (think: media company), they need a true professional at the controls. You will take our client’s new and repurposed content and enter it into their SiteCore system, a-tagging as you go. We’re not going to lie — it’s a lot of work in a little time. But you, dear Gun, can get it done with extreme professionalism and polish.
You’re not going to change the world with this gig (though if you do things right, our client will). But if you’re detail-oriented, have great time management skills and can crank, you’ll earn a nice income stream that will help set you up to pursue your next adventure.
