The Hired Guns are seeking an Associate Director of Digital Marketing to take ownership of a full-stack DIY role at a top-growth healthcare professional content platform, with a particular focus on email marketing to start.
The goal: improving healthcare efficiency while reducing costs. The company’s audience is specialized medical professionals who are sharpening their skills to the cutting edge. For the new Associate Director of Digital Marketing, that means constant segmentation and personalization to convert engagements into activations. Partnering with all areas of content creation and production, you and the marketing director will develop a multi-channel strategy for acquisition, engagement, activation, and retention.
This company is expanding at a remarkable rate and evolving to scale; it needs a digital marketing strategy that can keep up. Six months from now it will have a whole new platform, which means from day one you’ll strategize for optimized retention and engagement flows before Product gets locked into a design ungifted with your ideas.
Speaking of: this role tests A/B and multivariate triggers for engagement KPIs and larger trends. You’ll also verify data for sourcing, accuracy, insights, and areas of opportunity to further finetune.
What Success Looks Like
A year out, your new platform will deliver better UI and bigger numbers, freeing you to expand deeper into multi-channel, so note everything you learn for personal growth strategies in social, site, and sharing. “We are heavily focused on the email portion, but need someone who demonstrates high-level interest in developing other marketing skills as well,” says your new boss.
Hired Gun Profile
This is a role for someone at the mid-management point of in-house digital marketing of the content space — ideally for a professional platform. You want a gig whose daily duties can catch your skills strategizing multi-channel, social, and more with your knack for turning email blasts into content engagement.
Your data-driven campaigns judiciously apply (and reap) analytics and insights. You work fast, review with scrutiny, and adjust quickly. You play well with others, working with editorial, product, and marketing at large to keep messaging on point across the board.
On the apps, you’re an Excel demigod whose pivot tables whisper the secrets of the universe, and you’re socially spry with Sprout and Hootsuite. In Sailthru, you turn data into creative emails that hit the target.
Don’t let the healthcare aspect intimidate you. Their system is so customized, even if your background is in the healthcare field (great!) you’re starting from scratch. Far better to have industry outreach experience, marketing to professionals in any complicated industry like law, tech, etc.
If you can handle all these hands-on duties and find time to kickstart their internal social focus, you’ll get the gig.
Lots of different opportunities here: ADs looking to score bingo on their toolkit, senior marketers overdue for a promotion, or even full directors who want to plant their flag in a double-growth (theirs, yours) proving ground. For all, pay is competitive, work is noble, benefits are extensive, and responsibilities are stimulating.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, creed, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, disability, or any other status protected by applicable law.
