This influential non-profit, founded by the filmmaker George Lucas, is generating a movement to transform American education. By telling the stories of what works in schools across the country, they shine a spotlight on real-life strategies and tools that change classrooms and level the playing field for all children. In order to deliver on this mission, they’re looking for a highly creative Audience Development Manager who will focus on audience growth and engagement. You’ll be responsible for all audience acrobatics, like taking their newsletter from 500k to a million! You’ll bring creative strength to a very analytics-minded marketing team and round out the team with your keen focus on audience expansion and engagement. This is a highly collaborative role that requires you to work with teams across the org to develop and execute new audience strategies helping to improve overall performance, while simultaneously growing and retaining target audiences. In short, you’ll have a big hand in helping enhance the brand that people seek out for what works in pre-K-12 education. You’ll also execute highly-effective campaigns that increase website traffic, drive signups, maximize the reach of new content, boost engagement, and promote the value of personalized accounts, premium content, and new products and features. This is a newly created role and an opportunity to be part of a small but mighty team. You got this.
Note: This is a full-time position with the flexibility to work remotely anywhere in the United States; you must be available during core West Coast business hours.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You have a minimum of 4 years of experience in digital marketing, with demonstrated success creating and executing campaigns and strategies that drive audience growth and engagement. You are a mission-driven human with a passion for education and digital media. Prior experience in a fast-paced, content-driven media environment is strongly preferred. You are an excellent creative writer with strong communication skills and good judgment. You must have experience working with creative teams – editors, designers, and video producers – to showcase and distribute digital content to wide audiences. You should have hands-on expertise with high-volume email marketing platforms—such as SendGrid or MailChimp—to send automated newsletters, targeted promotions, and transactional messages. Plus, you must possess deep knowledge of email deliverability and marketing automation best practices. Oh, and you always have SEO best practices at the forefront of your mind. Proficiency with SEMRush, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics is required.
