Amazing Opportunity to Lead Performance Marketing at $1B Home Improvement Company!
Compensation range: $145,000 to $160,000 base per year plus 20% bonus

This leading B2C national home improvement company is laser-focused on growing smarter, not just bigger, and they’re looking for a Director of Digital Performance Marketing to take the reins on paid search, paid social, programmatic, YouTube, and more. With a massive media budget (~$40–50M/year), a high-value product offering ($8K avg. sale), and demand-gen complexity that changes with seasons and markets, this is not your average click-and-convert gig.
You’ll report to an incredible boss (the kind of leader people want to work for and learn from), with career pathing baked in from day one. You’ll be the strategic architect and a hands-on pilot behind performance marketing that drives results and impacts the P&L in a big way.
And yes, this is hybrid—3 days a week in-office in the Chicagoland area. The role comes with exposure: you’ll be working directly with execs, including the CEO of a private equity firm, as well as internal senior leadership.
What’s it going to take to score an interview?
- You’ve led at least one direct report—not just dotted-line stuff, but direct management of the careers and work of at least one direct report, including mentorship and goal setting.
- You’ve run million-dollar media budgets, ideally $1M+/month, across multiple paid channels (search, display, video, social, programmatic).
- You’re fluent in the dashboards and OK being hands-on—Google Ads, Bing, Meta Ads Manager, etc.—and have no problem getting in the weeds when needed.
- You’ve owned agency relationships—hired, fired, optimized, and pushed performance to deliver.
- You know how to think locally, not just globally—Bonus points if you’ve built out paid strategies by region, franchise territory, or seasonal nuance.
- AI isn’t just a buzzword to you—You’ve used it for campaign optimization, predictive analytics, or smarter segmentation.
