The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the company and why they need to hire you!
On a mission to improve human health, this up-and-coming global supplement company needs an accomplished Director of Performance Marketing with cross-channel marketing and Amazon experience to catapult them into their next phase of growth. Be aware: Amazon experience is a non-negotiable must-have, because one of your main responsibilities will be to steer consumers to their Amazon Store and grow this vertical. You will also lead customers to their e-commerce sites and offline to drugstores, grocers, and specialty retailers.
In addition to that, you will oversee the digital agency agency relationship, ensuring that key KPIs are met. And after strategy and execution, you’ll help translate the insights into optimizations, oversee the media budget, and make recommendations on the media investment mix.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
First off, we’re going to say it once again: Amazon experience is paramount. You must be an expert in driving customer acquisition to the Amazon Store and be able to run the tools on the platform for Amazon paid search, Amazon Organic Search, and Amazon OTT. Beyond that, you must also have a great growth story for supersizing customer acquisition.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of performance marketing/paid media experience, with a preference for category experience in CPG. Big bonus points for candidates with wellness experience and/or the vitamin and supplement space (MVS), or OTC Pharma. We are open to candidates from CPG and DTC companies as well as digital media agencies who specialize in CPG and DTC for their clients.
A nice-to-have is experience driving customers with digital tactics into physical drugstores and grocery stores to buy wellness items like vitamins. Ideally, you also have experience running trials, as well as upper-conversion-funnel and cross-channel experience.
You’re detail-oriented, you understand the consumer journey, and you think strategically about how to marry up execution and investment against business objectives. You’re super excited about building an up-and-coming brand, and you have a strong entrepreneurial streak and a growth mindset. You’re fully comfortable taking ownership of performance marketing, while also managing up and engaging with multiple partners (you will need to rely on a network of strong partners internally and externally). Huge plus if CRM is your jam and you can implement winning initiatives that increase loyalty. Finally, you’ve worked with big budgets ($7 million-plus) with impressive ROAs, and you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
The Inside Skinny
Why you should quit your job right now and join this team!
This will be a fantastic opportunity for you if you have a performance marketing playbook and you want the independence to make your own decisions at a company focused on sustainability, scalability, and a blossoming portfolio of product offerings. If you’re a marketer who has been spearheading media at a digital agency and you’re dying to move client side (you’ll be working hand-in-glove with your agencies), then this is definitely the gig for you!
