Director of Social Media Wanted to 5X Social For An Almost $1B Retail Brand
Salary range: $120,000 to $160,000 base per year + 20% bonus
Are You the Missing Piece?
Imagine being handed the keys to one of the biggest retail brands in the Southeast and hearing the CEO say: “Go make us famous.” Not “maintain the content calendar.” Not “post three times a day.” Not “stay on brand.”
We mean: build something people can’t stop talking about and own a mandate of 5X social growth over the next 18–24 months
Our client is a wildly successful, family-owned retailer with 25+ nationwide locations, an $800M+ business (slated to be a billion in a mere few years), an iconic reputation in its market, and a massive rebrand underway. They’re expanding beyond furniture into appliances, smart home, kitchens, closets, home entertainment, wellness, security systems, moving, and more.
The CEO is all in. He lives on social. He experiments. He takes risks. He wants someone who can walk into the building and say, “I’ve got this. Follow my lead.”
This is your chance to build a social media machine from the ground up, lead a growing team, create content that stops the scroll, partner with major consumer brands, and turn a regional powerhouse into a national social media success story. If you’ve ever complained that leadership doesn’t understand social, this isn’t that job. The CEO is your biggest fan and will be very hands-on in the interview process.
What’s it going to take to score an interview?
- 7–10+ years in social media, content, influencer, or digital marketing
- Proven track record growing audiences, driving engagement, and creating content people actually care about
- Experience leading teams, agencies, creators, freelancers, or social programs
- Deep fluency across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, and whatever platform everyone is obsessing over next week
- Strong instincts for storytelling, culture, partnerships, creators, and viral moments
- Ability to build systems, not just posts
- Experience working with consumer brands, retail, lifestyle brands, agencies, publishers, creators, or high-growth startups
- Comfortable presenting to executives and defending your ideas
- Willingness to relocate to Southeast Florida (or already be there)
- Bonus points if you’ve been waiting for the chance to leave agency life and own a brand with virtually unlimited stories to tell.
You should take this meeting because …
The CEO is personally championing this hire and has made it clear that social media is one of the company’s biggest strategic priorities. You’ll have an unusual level of freedom to experiment, take risks, and pursue bold ideas without getting buried in approvals or corporate red tape. The company is profitable, growing rapidly, and investing heavily in building a world-class social presence, not cutting budgets or looking for quick fixes.
Between a major rebrand, new product categories, sustainability initiatives, philanthropy, creator partnerships, smart home technology, moving services, and a larger-than-life CEO with his own growing audience, you’ll never run out of stories to tell. You’ll work directly with leadership, have the resources to build and shape your own team, and have a clear path to earning a VP-level role if you prove you can deliver. Most social media jobs ask you to maintain an account. This one asks you to build something people across the industry will be talking about, securing your legacy and longevity at this company described as a “family.” This one will go fast – get in touch with us today if you think you’re a fit!
