As Director of Web Technology and Digital Transformation at this private foundation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping this organization’s online presence, overseeing the development, maintenance, and optimization of all its digital platforms.
Leading a talented team of developers, designers, and engineers, you will craft compelling digital experiences that enhance engagement and amplify impact. Working cross-functionally with communications, IT, and key stakeholders, you will ensure seamless technical integration while pushing the boundaries of digital capabilities. This is a chance to drive digital innovation that fuels groundbreaking research—work the world needs now more than ever.
What’s it going to take to score an interview?
- You’re an innovative digital boss and CMS expert: You have 10+ years of experience in digital technology, with at least 5+ years in a leadership position. You must have a strong understanding of multi-tenant web development and CMS (e.g., WordPress or Drupal), UX/UI, and data and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics), plus knowledge of web development frameworks, languages, and tools (e.g., JavaScript frameworks, HTML/CSS, PHP, MySQL).
- You hail from a multi-tenant environment: Perhaps you worked at a major publishing-forward media company, or a company that actively publishes content on the editorial or branded content side. Similarly, you might have experience at research foundations, policy think tanks… you get the gist. Hands down, you’re ready, willing and able to go knee-deep in web development within this type of environment.
- You’re a natural-born leader who can own data, analytics and MarTech: You can swoop in and create a centralized platform strategy that enables stakeholders to pull data and run reporting across the organization. Plus, you have demonstrated success in leading and managing small to mid-sized cross-functional teams and complex digital projects (with specific experience managing development and technical teams including in-house and external resources). Nice to haves: Infomatics, productizing data, CRM, and data visualizations. Huge plus if you have managed the technology side of a migration.
- You can build prioritization guidelines that enhance this foundation’s speed to market: Right now it’s taking three months to fulfill a request, and one of your key objectives is to shorten that cycle time dramatically. You will come in and evaluate the team, talk to the stakeholders, and build prioritization guidelines that get buy-in. Additionally, you’re someone who thinks at both the stakeholder and enterprise levels.
- You’re savvy when it comes to driving innovation through cutting-edge technology: You stay updated on technological advancements, assessing emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and IoT for potential adoption.
- You’re a pro at managing budgets: You have no qualms about controlling the annual operating and capital budgets for technology purchasing, staffing, and operations.
- You can ensure data security and compliance: You readily accept the responsibility of protecting this organization’s data assets and ensuring compliance with regulations like GDPR.
