This fast-growing, woman-owned, data-driven company pairs patients with research studies, enabling life-saving drugs and procedures to come to market faster. Every year for the past four years, the company has doubled in size, and it’s poised for even more growth in 2022. To keep up with this rapid expansion, they’re looking for a meticulous Proofreader to join their creative team and review clinical research materials. This includes print advertising, brochures, guides, letters, digital advertising, websites, social media ads, presentations, videos and more. Copy editing will be required at times. You will also be expected to find proper sources for lines of copy and ensure consistency and accuracy across all materials for each project. Obviously, you will be tasked with proofreading content written by copywriters for print and online features, making corrections, finding spelling and grammatical errors, spotting typographical errors, and checking for consistency and accuracy. If it makes your skin crawl to see the wrong use of “they’re,” “their,” and “there,” then this is surely the gig for you.

How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
Agonist v. antagonist? You know the difference between the two, and you would never let a mis-use slip by you. You’re exacting, yet personable. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience in proofreading, quality assurance, and editing text. Familiarity with AP and other style guidelines is a must. You are relentless about ferreting out errors and turning every piece of copy into a compelling, shiny gem. You must have prior proofreading experience, demonstrate incredible attention to detail, and possess the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Expertise in fact-checking and research sure wouldn’t hurt. Experience with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office suite (especially Word and PowerPoint) is required. Bonus points if you’re fluent in Adobe InDesign. Note – you should be prepared to take a proficiency test as part of the candidate screening process.
