When you swing into action as an Internal Communications Writer, you’ll immediately become a valued player on a vast range of long- and short-form writing projects, including internal website/intranet copy, articles, newsletters, even ghostwriting email announcements to staff from senior leadership.

How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You’re a top-notch writer with a strong news sensibility who writes in a plain-spoken, engaging style and understands how to write brief yet informative material. A lot of pedigrees would be a great fit here (PR, comms, journalism, or marketing), and while experience with healthcare or medicine would be a plus, we’d also be happy to see any background where you had to show versatility and quick-on-the-uptake-ness with sometimes technical material, delivering it in layperson’s terms (science journalism or financial journalism comes to mind).
You love the freelancer lifestyle and have 10+ hours available on your dance card from week to week. We get that this is part-time, but some deliverables are time-sensitive, so be aware there can be some demands for quick turnaround and a need for somewhat predictable availability for consultation and collaboration with the institution’s communications team.
